Sparkle Wire

While many people are still counting their depts caused by the Alexander Wang x H&M collab (first H&M designer collection since Versace that I didn't get a piece of - intentionally), I have recently turned to something aesthetically and reach-wise completely different one. Sadie Williams is a recent Central Saint Martins textile graduate that has caught the attention of many fashion insiders after her stellar and dramatic, architectural costume-driven graduate collection shown less than 2 years ago. And obviously caught the attention of right people, because the first big assignment of this JW Anderson-trained designer was nothing less but a collaborative collection for &Other Stories.

Almost-sold out, this collection (and Sadie's aesthetic in general) takes the idea of sturdy objects such as Courragés dresses and vintage motorcycle uniforms and giving them new life with extremely feminine, sparkly textiles. Contrast is shown as a tool both in silhouettes and textile juxtaposition - soft off-white wool is going against a steel-wool metallic that shows what Williams is all about. &Other Stories did very well on choosing this particular for their pretty niche customer audience - it's artsy enough to be interesting, but staying away from the obnoxious, stuck-up part of it. The collection is both perfectly romantic and sporty, feminine and androgynous, sexy and ambiguous - it depends on how you put together the pieces, how you mix the metallics with the thick wools, and it's up to you to get a look that you want to achieve for the day.

I accidentally passing by the Oxford Circus store at the day of the launch, and absolutely fell in love a sleeveless vest that reminded me of a glitzy fencing top and I couldn't pass on it. So many details contained in a sole piece of clothes makes you - well made me - want just to have it to look at it. I am well aware this buy is probably the smartest one, but the . Plus, the socks are both extremely fun and soft so that's the practical bit...
