style brick road: December 2013

best of 2013.

About 80 looks, trying not to be narcissistic.

It's soooo funny to see how my hair/style/face/poses have changed.

FACTS:
I love to repeat & forget footwear.
Prints have been a big thing - last month or so, I'm printpressed. (print-depressed)
My favourite/most-worn piece is my faux-leather jacket.
The attempt of bringing back the dungarees was mostly unsuccessful.
Skinny jeans are still my best friend.
I'm glad to have my natural hair back.

NOTE TO SELF: Let's do one more year of half-assed interesting looks, funny attempts & crazy hair.

NOTE TO YOU: Try doing this rewind flashback looks - I had a big ol' laugh. Not a thing healthier for one's mind to close of a year than with a laugh at your own last 365 faux-pas.

Choose a look, choose to inspire yourself!

HAPPY 2014, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! < 3

ps. Which is your favourite?

instaholiday 2013.

Gee-wizz. Holidays are almost over, they went quite fast, but pleasing to the fullest. I finally got to relax with my family and hang out with my friends - something I didn't have the time for earlier.
It doesn't change the fact I'm dangerously approaching every single deadline I'm facing in my current life - kinda hope to get everything done in time.

New Year countdown is on, I prepared a funny little rewind from the past year for tomorrow, but for now - here's bits and bobs from my holiday instagram diary!

FILM. Saving Mr. Banks Costume Design

As an ultimate costume lover, I must state that Saving Mr. Banks is one of the most outstanding moments in recent film costume design. Between getting the era right and giving characters a space to develop themselves (which costume designers should ALWAYS provide), Daniel Orlandi stroke a perfect balance.

With a Satellite Award nomination under his arm, I'm hoping to see Mr. Daniel nominated for his work on the 'making-of Mary Poppins' story for many more. The process that came between sketching and the final creation is quite astonishing - with a smallest detail successfully accomplished... It's one wow moment after another. To be honest - at moments, I had to force myself follow the plot instead of looking at the meticulously designed clothes.

Check out the sketches, but don't forget to watch the movie - it's currently running in cinemas :*

WORK. Happy Holidays Editorial by Jelena Balic

Although I consider myself eloquent enough to express my gratitude and best wishes for the holidays, I think my styling can be more articulative! Beautiful clothes on a beautiful girl (hopefully) styled beautifully within beautiful images - what more to ask for the holidays than a rhapsody of beautiful elements wrapped into one beautiful story. #beautiful

Thanks to Matija Vujica, Boris Pavlin, Boudoir, Manuel Maligec & H&M for the fabulous clothes - it was a pleasure working with your work!

So, guys - wish you all the best for your holidays! :*

ROBAxBISKOTEKA + Christmas Giveaway

ROBA is a Croatian brand that can perfectly described with just one word - cool. Internationally successful & well-known with a clear vision of functional simplicity with a laid-back chic aesthetic. Everything considered, collaborating with Branka and her brand is a big deal for me. I'm extremely proud and excited to play just a small part in promoting ROBA's latest capsule collection of printed sweatshirts & t.shirts.

Coolest prints EVER made by Biskoteka are presented on a simple yet functional black sweatshirt (cotton+pockets, what more could you ask for!) as a perfect 'conversation starter' piece. As always, I'm absolutely attracted by unisex pieces that are worn by both men and women, just so you can see how a piece of clothing becomes a statement piece interpreted in an individual way. I still believe no one can wear a piece of clothing the same way.

On the other hand, there are chic short-sleeved t-shirts that are a bit more feminine, but are ideal for humid summers & music festivals - high-quality light material in 2 nuances of white makes them easy to combine into other outfits. I styled them into easy-to-wear summer outfits back in September - influenced & inspired by all of the summer festivals I attended.

The whole collection is available for purchase HERE.

SO, as Christmas is approaching HEAVILY, ROBA & I prepared a little bit of a surprise for you - win a t-shirt of YOUR choice in our SBRxROBA Facebook giveaway! For more info - click HERE! :)
