style brick road: June 2013

better to feel pain, than nothing at all.

Long time, no outfit post.

I've decided to concentrate more on the writing part of the blog, because I really love writing, and I see my future as a journalist or as a professional writer. Unfortunately, recently I didn't have the time to stop for an hour or two, and lose myself in my own words. In my past years, I've started to write many MANY books, but never ever wrote a second chapter of one. Now, when I look back at those stories, I think of them as a bunch of 'little child wants to be big' moments of my own life. Funny, but a must-have.

Now and then, I still wish to have finished one or two of them, but then I remember all of the good stuff that came out of this blog, and out of the time I spend creating & modifying it into a piece of myself I'm absolutely proud of.

I don't want for this to seem as an excessive brain vomit, but as one of my own personal confessions to you - my readers, my friends, and maybe even my family.

giant vintage mirrored lensed sunglasses (buy them HERE) // primark sandy coloured banana fit chinos // h&m white basic cotton shirt // asos printed red&white sneakers // asos canvas & leather detail backpack // asos straw hat with paisley bandana details // vintage watch (bought @ Croots)

ps. I really don't get how I've come to these philosophy of life based on a simple outfit like this!

PPS. Thankies go to Topstil & Irena for my latest magenta hair!

IN LOVE. Chloe Boom

Looking through photos from fashion shows is part of my fashion shows routine, and it really is a lot of fun. And for 2 seasons now, I've been seeing a face (and a hair) I've been intrigued by. And finally, I googled 'rainbow coloured model'.

Meet Chloe Norgaard, artistically called Chloe Boom.

She's a fashion model &DJ that dyes her own hair, walks for fashion shows such as Rodarte, Nicole Miller, Marimekko & many more, and poses for magazines like Marie Claire & Dazed&Confused. She's also cute, funky, and has a very cool personal style. Chloe is 22, signed for One Management, and probably one of the trendiest models right now. Can't wait to see her walk for the spring/summer 2014 collections!

INmusic 2013

Unfortunately, I don't have too many good words for this year's INmusic festival. The best moment of the festival was definitely Editors' concert which was magic, magnetic & amazing. I felt like it was 2009 all over again, and I imagined myself listening to them for the first time in the first row of INmusic. I was young, clueless & easy going, and it was nice to go back to that place for more than 1 and a half hours. The concert was absolutely electric, and the atmosphere was unbelievable. For me, they should have closed the festival because Basement Jaxx (although great) couldn't cope with the Editors spirit everyone was feeling.

Other concerts I enjoyed were the ones by Stealing Sheep, Bloc Party, Dicta & Arctic Monkeys. I loved all of these, but there were a lot of questionable moments during the festival like the NOFX concert & their offensive statements. Not everyone should play on the main stage. Especially not a band that's offending Croatian national symbols on the Statehood Day of Croatia. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not a big nationalist, but that was tasteless and unnecessary. Another thing that was the organization's fault were the big lines for almost everything. The first day, I almost missed Bloc Party because of the 1 hour waiting for one cup of beer.

But all in all, it was an ok festival, and I'd give it a solid C. At first, it sounded like a great lineup, but in the end the scheduling of the concerts kinda ruined it. They separated same-genre bands on different stages so that you weren't capable of listening to all of them. I know that's a normal thing on festivals, but since they really didn't have THAT many headliner bands, they could have put a breaks of more than a few minutes between 2 indie rock concerts (eg. Dicta & Arctic Monkeys).

And yeah, probably one of the best moments of the festival (if you put Editors' concert aside) were my first karaoke ever.

night 2&3 FOR 2013

Honestly, partying has never been this much fun.
I'm thanking FOR for listening to Solange live. I'm thanking FOR for meeting & listening to Nicolas Jaar, Kevin Parke of Tame Impala & James Blake. I'm thanking FOR for giving me an opportunity to meet a big number of fabulous, interesting & cool people, and also giving me a chance to hang out with my fabulous, interesting & cool friends.. I'm also thanking FOR for giving me a chance to dress as crazy as I wanted.

I should probably stop thanking FOR, and start preparing for the next year's edition. Because it will come soon. Very, VERY soon.

Marc Jacobs S/S 2014 menswear

Man, how I want me some Marc Jacobs. Retro rockabilly silhouettes mixed with elements from the 30's combine themselves into a quite modern collection that's respecting the trends, but not following them excessively. Cropped trousers that are young and a bit feminine looking define absolutely manly looks because of the more boxy & masculine shapes on the top. The pieces that stand out the most are the classic ones interpreted in a retro-modern way - colourful leather jackets, slim fitted suits & thick soled brogues.

Who wouldn't want an electric blue leather perfecto jacket?!
