I never got to see the Burberry Prorsum menswear collection for Spring/summer '14 shown in June, but I got to see few pieces from the same collection as part of my London Fashion Week experience in September. (click) I always get excited when brands show few menswear looks inside of their womenswear runway shows - like they acknowledge the men in the audience, and Christopher Bailey is throwing us a fashion bone.
Suede plimsolls in electric colours, leather gym sacks, super skinny ties, watches & phone pouches. It's the retained luxury Bailey shows us again and again - the pieces are flashy solely in their quality, but not in the branding nor labeling. That gives me a feel of self-awareness and confidence that the designer has - he believes his pieces will become statement and recognizable on their own. They don't need blatant logos to prove their own point.
Bravo Bailey, once again.
