This New York based brand presented its spring/summer collection for 2014, and I can't stop my love for it.
Korean culture & fashion, mixed with futuristic materials & minimalistic shapes were the starting points for this fabulous Opening Ceremony collection that had a proper high-fashion sense. Within its 21 looks, the designers mixed everything and anything to get a final cohesive, modern, but still basic menswear collection. You know the collection is a full-house when you find a metallic coat, a printed shirt, a leather jacket, and more than 1 amazing suit. The leitmotif of the collection is the element of graphics inspired by the Korean 'pojagi' patchwork technique which looks amazingly manly combined with clean lines & basic colours. As for the colour-spectrum of the collection, it stayed between the primary colours, and the monochromatic black-white situation, but the best parts were the metallic moments which were outside the standard colour scheme for both the brand, and menswear.
Altogether, I can say it's one of the best off-runway collections I've seen for the s/s 2014 season because of the fact that a lot of designers have already shown us their vision of Far-East inspiration, but Opening Ceremony definitely displayed a nice balance of trends, Korea & classic menswear.
The collection will be available in will be available at selected retailers and online middle in January 2014.
