you say goodbye and I say hello. I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello

hello boys&girls! :D

WHATUUUUP!!! :D

sorry for posting late but the final of my favourite tv show was up (THE X FACTOR UK- GOOO LITTLE MIX!!! :D)

but here I am! :D

since it's another interview saturday I would like to present my favourite jewelry brand (up there with yosoyjuanita) but unfortunately it's just ladies jewelry.

it's FAB Little Wonder (click on the name to check out the fbook page :D).

It is well known for its statement necklaces, bracelets and earrings, all made of natural materials such as linen, cotton, leather and other seemingly incompatible additions.

This eclectic mixture of different materials and patterns is what characterizes Little Wonder jewelry, which includes a range of different collections such as leather necklaces Wild Child, Indian Summer necklaces with an ethnic feel to them, Atomic necklaces and many others.

The name behind the brand is Selma Štrkljević, a professor of Italian language and literature an art historian, born in Split.

I must admit that this is my favourite Q&A up to this day (although I adore all my other girls that were interviewed for style-brick-road :D).

so here it is...

1. When did you start making and selling your jewelry?
I started last year in July, so Little Wonder is one year and five months old.

2. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Oh, that was a bit difficult. My sisters helped me and we decided to name it after a song by David Bowie. I was uncertain whether it would sound pretentious but now I love it.

3. Can you live solely from selling your jewelry?
So far, I’m managing it. We’ll see.

4. How do you see the future of your brand?
I hope that it will grow, that I will have more retailers, that it will only get better and better, that Kate Moss will be wearing it (<3 this joke)… I’m joking. We’ll see. Actually I don’t think in that direction, I’m just doing what I love and I’m really glad that people are recognizing it.

5. What is your favourite piece of your jewelry?
Wild Child leather necklace.

6. What would you like to say to your current and future fans?
Dear fans, thank you for making my brand grow, thank you for wearing Little Wonder and thank you for all the nice comments and support.

8. What's your inspiration and where do you go to find new ideas?
I find inspiration everywhere.  Since I was little, fashion and craft have always been a special part of my life. My grandmother and my mother owned their own knitting craft and my father used to make models of wooden ships, so I grew up surrounded with the idea of making something with my own hands. I draw ideas from everywhere, whether it is nature, architecture, art in general, fashion trends, African prints, materials that I’m using, etc.  I just adore mixing interesting prints, playing with different materials and making eclectic pieces of jewelry.

9. Was your knowledge of fashion design helpful in making of your brand?
Sure! Although I did not finish Faculty of Textile and Technologies, I know a lot about fashion design and design in general. I hold a degree in art history and Italian language and literature.

10. Do you have more international or Croatian customers?
Right now I’m selling my jewelry only in Croatia so I have more Croatian customers. But I know for sure that some of the necklaces went as gifts to New York, Germany, Brussels, Vienna, etc. A lot of tourists buy them during summer months in the store Luk in Split, so who knows where they go.

thank you a lot Selma, and I hope to get myself one of your pieces of jewelry (although they are for girls, I'll make it for a boy!! :D)!!
